I ate the freshest seafood at Breakthrough in Iloilo for dinner. The best talaba (oysters), chili crabs, aligue rice & prawns bigger than my fists downed with beer.
While waiting for the food, Jan and I walked out to the sea and enjoyed the cool breeze, thick with the oddly comforting smell of salt. The moon was faint but it painted every wave with a soft silver light.
I’ve not been to any beach this year and I did not realise how much I missed it. I feel like I’ve been playing in a sandbox for too long. I jumped up and down the soft sand, my hair flying wildly and my eyes transfixed at the horizon.
